Final Drawing of Series

Friday, July 30th, 2010

So………….This drawing caps off the series that I started a couple months ago.  Typically the summer makes me want to paint but for some reason, I had the urge to draw this year and I’m pleased with the results.  It’s possible that I could have kept going with this series, but I ran out of the recycled cardboard panels in this color.  All of the drawings in this series are on 12″x18″ cardboard that I reclaimed from the architecture/interior design office that I work in.  I used color pencil, marker and ink.  If you want to see the rest of these drawings, you can find them on the drawings page in my portfolio.  I will be looking to possibly get this series in a group show in the near future and I will send updates through Facebook/Twitter.  So link up.  Thanks,

Ronin

Newest Drawing, Untitled, 2010

Sunday, July 4th, 2010

Here’s my latest drawing that I finished up 7/4/2010 (at 430 am).  It is another mixed media on carbdoard piece.  I only have one more cardboard panel this size and color to finish up the series.  This series of drawings is all done on 12″x18″ recycled cardboard from the office I work in.

My Latest Drawing. The Abstractness, 6/27/2010

Wednesday, June 30th, 2010

Here is my latest drawing that I finished just a couple days ago.  I decided to call it “The Abstractness”.  Why?  Because it is abstract, #1.  It is inspired by graffiti and the name refers to that.

Contemplating the Void Competition

Competition Description

To celebrate the close of the Guggenheim’s 50th Anniversary year, we invite you to create your own dream intervention of the Guggenheim Museum. Now you can take on the same challenge that 200 artists, designers, and architects took on for the exhibition

About The Guggenheim Rotunda

Since its opening in 1959, the Guggenheim Museum has served as an inspiration for invention, challenging artists and architects to react to its eccentric, organic design. The central void of the spiraling Rotunda has elicited many unique and innovative responses over the years, which have been manifested in both site-specific solo shows and memorable exhibition designs.

MEDUSA

Like a jellyfish frozen in space, this installation changes the infamous Guggenheim rotunda into an underwater architectural landscape filled with multi-colored, LED lights.

The proposal investigates the structural capabilities of fiber optic lights by supporting a glass orb/light fixture suspended near the 1st level of the ramped galleries.
